500 year flood

I'm sure if you've been on the Internet, watched any TV or live in the Midwest you are aware of the catastrophic flooding. I have never seen anything like this in my life!

We were put under a mandatory evacuation at the accounting firm so we worked all day at putting up files, removing computers and preparing for the worst. We were pushed out of the building about 3:30 and told to take anything we didn't want destroyed. It was absolutely depressing.

These are pictures from today.

They have closed all bridges over the Cedar River except for I-380 and Hwy 30, thereby making traveling from one side of this town to the other near impossible. And while my commute to work tomorrow will be horrendous, I will take that over losing my house/workplace/belongings to a flood any day.

Our prayers go out to everyone in this utterly devastating time.
