Lauren's 5th Birthday

Well...the day has come. Lauren is officially five years old!!! I honestly cannot believe how fast the time has gone. I remember the night I found out I was pregnant with her like it was yesterday. And to think that this little child will be starting Kindergarten in the fall? Well....it is bittersweet, but I think both mom/dad and Lauren are ready for it!!! Lauren has been HUGE on Dr. Seuss books lately. She will sit and read them (not sure if actually reading or just has them memorized) for hours. In fact, I can guarantee that there is at least ONE Dr. Seuss book roaming around in my car even as we speak. So when I asked her what she wanted her birthday theme to be this year I wasn't at all shocked that she said Dr. Seuss! I'm not super creative when it comes to birthday parties and I'm not particularily a good baker/cook. So when I searched online for some fun ideas I was THRILLED when I discovered that was adorable AND do-able!! She wanted to bring cupcakes to school on her birthday so we sent her with these....Thing 1 and Thing 2!! Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket They were super duper cute and she LOVED the fact that they had cotton candy on them, as well!!! When it came time for the actual party on Saturday she was all ready to be the star of the show. I mean...the poor kid has been asking when her birthday was going to get here since Josh's birthday....last August. I was so mad as soon as I saw it because I asked them to have it look like the Cat in the Hat's hat. Yeah...it didn't. So I was already disappointed when I left the bakery. THEN...I drove too fast and it slipped off the base. THEN...when I went to reach for something in the cupboard I completely smashed the front of it. Oh, well...it was still yummy!
