Today's Daycare Report

Another note, while I’m talking about Lauren....you have one SMART little cookie on your hands!!! She has been doing Table Top Time with us (our preschool workbook time) and she is just amazing me at how well she is doing. Yesterday we were talking about beginning sounds. For example, the page would show a dog, then it would have two more pictures behind it...a car and a doll. They needed to find the picture that had the same beginning sound as dog. She nailed it on EVERY single one. Not just yesterday, but almost every day when we do this...she knows them. At first I thought she was watching the older kids point to the answer, but I have been watching closely, and she is the FIRST one to find the right answer!!! ;-) Then again, this doesn’t surprise me too much, knowing how smart Josh is! Just thought I would share how well she is doing here!



You know sometimes Lauren gets a bad wrap - with her tantrums, puking and lovely independence phase - so I figured it was about time she got some good stuff, too! I wrote Jaime back and said that it was funny she said something about that because she has started doing similar things like that at home, too!

Josh brings home books from the library or school almost every night and every night we sit down and do our reading. Well, first Josh reads his book and then Lauren gets her turn to read the book. And almost every night she says words from each page. I always figured she just had a good memory but I'm not so sure that's it anymore.

Who knows...maybe Lauren will be reading at Josh's level soon! ;-)
