Half Birthday Boy

Josh had been counting down the minutes until his birthday party for just about six months now. I went into the office for a few hours this morning and met up with everyone for lunch before the big party. To say that this place was chaotic is putting it mildly. I'd say it's like Chuck E. Cheese on steroids. The kids are older, the games are louder and the additional square footage just makes it easier to lose kids in the mass of people.

Thankfully, Uncle Joel volunteered to help me and Dustin. There were seven boys, in total and these kids were like pinballs bouncing around from one activity to the other. And when you add tickets and tokens to the mix...there's just a whole lot to pay attention to. We only lost two of the kids for five minutes but they were the longest five minutes of my life!

The boys played laser tag, hovercraft bumper cars, mini golf, bouncy house and every arcade game possible. They had a blast and two of them even got payouts of over 1,000 tickets on two games. I was exhausted, Dustin was wiped, Joel's head was left spinning and seven little boys left with big smiles and sugar in their blood. I asked Josh if he had fun and he said, "This was the best party ever!"

I'd say it was a hit. And I'm thankful we have an entire year to recover.
