Bib #978

I ran my first 5k of 2011 (yay for tax season being over) and it was for a little girl (who's 4th birthday was that day) that is fighting a rare form of cancer. Her mother went to school with my daycare provider so we both ran, along with Jaime's husband, Heath. And yes, everyone wore tutus!!! It was AWESOME!!! But let me tell you....as I stood there waiting for the race to start and I looked to the side and saw Jordyn (the little girl) with all of her family I about lost it. They were completely overwhelmed by the turnout - there were between 350 and 400 runners - and the grandmothers were just in tears at the sight of all the people supporting them. And then when we sang happy birthday to her....I friggin' lost it. Lauren's 4th birthday is just a few weeks away and I was reminded how thankful I am that I have a healthy little boy and two healthy little girls. I am very blessed.

And to top it off....cut another 2:21 off my time!! Woot Woot!!!
